The Brazilian Butt Lift is a cosmetic buttock augmentation. It enhances the visual appearance of a patient's butt through surgery. The aesthetic surgery reshapes and resizes the gluteal region. Fat transfer and liposuction help to give the best possible result with a BBL.
Fat transfer during a Brazilian butt lift serves a very particular purpose. It collects the patient's very own fat cells from unwanted areas of the body. These areas often include the stomach and arms. The fat cells get redistributed to the area of the body that the patient wants: the butt. After the patient's butt takes shape and gets filled with the fat cells, liposuction is then used. Liposuction helps to further shape and contour the gluteal region. It also adds curves to the surrounding area. This works together to produce the aesthetically-pleasing butt that the patients wants. Dr. Kapoor is a renowned plastic surgeon in Los Angeles. He has extensive experience and training to provide you with beautiful results. They are natural looking and long lasting.
Anyone who wants a perkier, rounder and more youthful looking butt should get a BBL. Most Brazilian butt lift patients are people who had unflattering butts. They were flat, sagging, and square-shaped. Even if you only desire a curvier and better defined gluteal silhouette, a BBL might be right for you.
These are important things to know about a Brazilian butt lift:
The typical Brazilian butt lift in Los Angeles procedure starts with lipo. This happens to the areas that contain the fat cells for injection into the patient’s butt. The most common areas for harvesting are the stomach and hips. It is important to remember that there is no “lifting" with this procedure. It is in the name only. A BBL does not address sagging or loose skin.
Dr. Kapoor must harvest an ample amount of fat cells. Next, Dr. Kapoor readies the fat cells for fat transfer. He purifies the harvested cells. This ensures that your body will not reject the donor cells. It also lessens the risk of infections. If you are too thin or lean you may not have enough fat for harvesting. This is a very important thing to ask Dr. Kapoor about during your consultation.
After purification, they get injected into predetermined areas in your buttocks. Dr. Kapoor starts by filling the upper half of the butt with the fat cells through many small injections. Filling the upper area first creates a buttock that looks both perky and lifted. Why does Dr. Kapoor make so many small injections? It eliminates the need for surgical incisions. This limits the risk of surgical scarring to the liposuction incision sites.
After Dr. Kapoor puts an adequate amount of fat into the patient’s buttocks, he will once again do some lipo. He does this to the gluteal region as well as the surrounding areas to achieve the right contours of the butt. You want to have a butt that is well proportioned and curvy from any angle.
Compression garments get placed on the incision from the liposuction areas. This garment also goes over the injection sites. It helps to promote quicker and more efficient healing.
The BBL is almost always an outpatient procedure. This means the patient can go home the same day as the procedure. There is no hospital stay required. Dr. Kapoor asks that you not sit for extended periods of time. You will have to sleep on your stomach and sides. This can be very difficult for some patients. No direct pressure should go to the buttock region. After a few weeks, you may resume sitting like normal.
While a patient does return to their home the same day, it is important to rest. He asks that you refrain from normal activities until at least a week after your BBL. After the first week, most patients say they felt well enough to go back to work. At week three or four, most patients have made a full recovery.
