For patients in their late 30’s to early 40’s, a mini facelift is an appropriate treatment that will address sagging of the cheek and along the jawline. This usually involves a small incision along the front of the ear, through which the cheek and sagging tissue are lifted. This procedure takes approximately 1 and a half hours and is performed under local anesthesia with intravenous sedation or general anesthesia if preferred.

For patients in their 40’s to early 50’s, a micro-lift will correct sagging of the cheek, the jawline and neck. This usually involves a small incision along the front of the ear that into groove behind the ear, through which the cheek, jawline and neck tissues are lifted. A micro-lift provides the same benefits of a full facelift, but with smaller incisions and shorter recovery period. This procedure takes approximately 3 hours and is performed under local anesthesia with intravenous sedation or general anesthesia if preferred.

Facelift surgery, like any medical surgery, may result in a complication. While the risk of complications is very low, it is important to report any possible complications to our office and seek treatment. Some complications may be: infection, excessive bleeding, poor scarring, hair loss, elevated hairline, temporary or permanent numbness in select areas, eye irritation, the requirement of revision surgery. Most complications can be medically managed when treated in a timely fashion.
